APCG 498 Work Progress Week 13 November 11/28/13
I took my model into Mudbox and sculpted in some scales into the shin and feet of my phoenix. I also added in some muscle tone to my phoenix's legs, although it might be completely covered over by feathered alpha cards later. I also added in a front chest ribcage just to see what it might look like. Every part of the phoenix will be covered by alpha cards except for the head and the feet.
After I was done with the sculpting I re-imported the model back into Maya and UVed it.
This is my checkered in texture model. Some parts of the textures looks fine after the UVing but I think the head and jaw needs more UV tile divisions in them to evenly spread the textures, so I'll rework that later. Now I just need to work on the textures and alpha cards.

APCG 498 Work Progress Week 12 November 11/21/13
During the modeling of the body, I decided to make the feet of my phoenix bigger and longer apart from the reference that I had. I feel that turning my phoenix into a deadly clawed kicker would make him more deadly. I feel that my phoenix model's body is a big small but I think it looks fine at the moment and I'll adjust the body size and length later.
So far the geometry and edge flow looks fine and I've managed to delete a lot of other unnecessary edges to tone down the poly count and geometry. My model feels like it still has a lot of geometry but there doesn't seem to be much problems in them, so I guess I'll just keep the remaining edges as they are for the moment. After I finish refixing and rescaling the model, I'll start sculpting in Mudbox and make feather alpha cards for my phoenix.

APCG 498 Work Progress Week 11 November 11/14/13
I used the original concept art of the phoenix side view that I drew and colored as reference for my model.
As I continued modeling the head, I carefully innovated and modeled what the front view of the head would look like since I had no front view concept art. It took me some hours to think about what the head and its skull crest should look like. I looked back at some of the mistakes I did for my tiger head crest and carefully applied some simple head crest shapes to my phoenix instead of complex ones.
I think my wire frame geometry and edge flow my model looks okay at the moment but I'm thinking there may be too many edges and I might reduce them. I'll also be making new adjustments and changes to my model as I model further and improve its look.

APCG 498 Work Progress Week 10 November 11/07/13
This the concept that I drew and colored of my second model, the phoenix. There's still many things I want to add to this model and concept art but since there probably won't be enough time to add in new features and make them for my model, I'm thinking of just making it very simple. I also haven't added in a body yet and so I think I'll just use reference from other birds to fill in the rest.
All of the reference images of the terror bird and eagles seem to look like a pretty good combination for the body of my phoenix and so I think I'll implement their design into my basic model. I also think that I'll be using alpha cards too for the feathers.
So far I've gotten most of my textures done for my tiger. I'm getting pretty close to being done with my tiger model. Some last few things that I want to add into my tiger model are some alpha card as fur and some long yellow hair for my tiger's mane and tail. I also want to add in some reflection and refracture to my ice armors and gauntlets to make them look like glass and ice. Also since I'm running short on time to do both my tiger and phoenix models, I might just make do with some of the textures that I made. I didn't connect all the vertexes on my tiger model yet because there are still some things that I need to fix and do before I completely merge them all. So far I've learned and improved more on my UVs and texturing during the semester. I believe my tiger model will be an on going work in progress model even after I've finished with this class because there are still many things I want to add to it.
